Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11, but the requirement of TPM or secure boot has made the older PC or laptop users a matter of concern. The computer systems older than four years, probably don’t have the secure boot option, thus are not eligible for installation of Windows 11. But you can use an alternative way to download and install Windows 11 on systems without TPM support. Let’s see how does it work.
In general, Microsoft is advising its users to upgrade to Windows 11, via Windows update. But if your system doesn’t have the TPM in it, then your system will fail in the normal upgrade. Most of the older Systems lack the TPM or the secure boot part. However, other system requirements should comply as per requirement.
If your system is too old and doesn’t have TPM built in it, then you can try this option to install Windows 11 in your system. However, Microsoft doesn’t recommend installing Windows 11, on an unsupported PC or Laptop. Still, Microsoft lets users install Windows 11 on an unsupported system at their own risk. For that, you need to download the ISO file of the Windows 11 operating system, as the normal upgrade will not work for unsupported systems.

To download the disk image or the ISO file of Windows 11, you need to visit the software download page of Microsoft’s Windows 11. Select the Download Windows 11 Disk image (ISO) option and click on the Download button. Subsequently, you have to select the appropriate language option.
Now once the ISO file is downloaded into your system, you have to create a bootable disk or flash drive to install Windows 11 separately. And for that, you would require utility software for creating a bootable drive. In such a scenario Rufus is the best option, for creating a bootable drive. The reason behind choosing Rufus is described below.
How and why Rufus is used for creating a bootable drive of Windows 11 for systems without TPM?
For creating a bootable flash drive of Windows 11 for systems without TPM, you need to download the latest version of Rufus, which is version 3.16 or later. After the download is over, launch the application. Thus you already have the Windows 11 ISO file, downloaded into your system. Insert the thumb drive into your system, where you want to create the bootable drive with Rufus.

Yes, it’s quite possible to create a dual or multi-boot with other versions of Windows, such as Windows 7 or 10, or maybe with another genre operating system, such as Linux.
